Eddie from Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary
I took me years before I was able to capture an image of one of the Ngamba Island Chimpanzees standing on two legs. When we went to the lakeside, Eddie stood up while I was photographing. Founded in 1998 by Dr. Jane Goodall and a group of Ugandan trustees, this wonderful sanctuary is home to 52 chimps that have been rescued from the illegal wildlife trade. Eddie was in a circus before being brought to the sanctuary. The great apes at Ngamba live on 95 acres of pristine forest habitat. Visit NgambaIsland.org.
